Hon. Dkt. @tulia.ackson , has led the first meeting of the Committee to coordinate Preparations for the 6th Meeting of Parliamentary Speakers in the World today 16th May, 2024 Geneva in Switzerland.

The President of the World Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dkt. @tulia.ackson , has led the first meeting of the Committee to coordinate Preparations for the 6th Meeting of Parliamentary Speakers in the World today 16th May, 2024 Geneva in Switzerland.

The meeting which included Representatives from 6 Political and Geographic Zone Parliament, Representatives from the Leadership Committee, Leaders of Women and Youth Groups together with the Leadership of the Union discussed the proposals of the Agenda of the Summit expected to be held this year and seen the challenges of the Now what is happening in the world can be part of the agenda of the meeting.

Some of the challenges that are expected to be discussed include behavioral change, drought and hunger especially in Sub Saharan Africa, peace turmoil and ongoing wars in some nations of the world, gender equality and building an inclusive and participatory community. Either, the debate on democracy and the use of artificial intelligence and the consequences are also part of the expected agendas.
