TANZANIA AND KOREA ARE DISCUSSING THE BEST WAY TO DEVELOP MINING STRATEGY

The government of the Union Republic of Tanzania is ready to cooperate with the Republic of Korea in implementing its strategy to develop strategic and important minerals in the country.
That has been said today on 24 January, 2025 by the Minister of Mines, *Honorable Anthony Mavunde* when he met and held talks with the Korean Ambassador to Tanzania, *Honorable Eunju Ahn* in the small offices of the Ministry in Dar es Salaam.
“*Honorable President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan* gave us specific instructions to ensure this mineral resources, we put in a stable system so that our country can benefit more.
The strategy of mining harvesting which is in the final stages of completion is aimed at fulfilling that promise of our Honorable President.
One of the two key pillars of the Strategy is to conduct extensive research to identify the types and quantity of minerals available in the Strategy, as well as to establish an industrial-friendly environment to increase the value of those minerals here in the country.
Tanzania is one of the few countries in the world that has been blessed with the presence of all kinds of minerals and calling on investors from Korea to take advantage of the opportunity to invest in the value chain of the minerals sector in the country” said Mavunde
Earlier, explaining the purpose of requesting for the appointment, *Honorable Ambassador Ahn* explained that the aim in particular is to introduce himself from the long-standing relationship between Korea and Tanzania, especially in the mining sector, and stressing that he is ready to ensure that such cooperation is productive for both countries in developing the mining sector. Especially minerals strategy and already POSCO company from Korea has shown readiness to participate in the mining project in Mahenge, Morogoro province.
